In Memoriam
We express our deepest gratitude to our friend and colleague, Prof. Bernd Nothofer, for his contribution to the Barrier Islands Project from its inception to its implementation.
We also thank him for his great contribution to the Austronesian languages of Sumatra, Indonesia and the impact he made in the field of linguistics.
It is with deep sadness that we have to state that he is no longer with us, and he will not be able to see the completion of the Barrier Islands Project. His absence is felt in a way that cannot be replaced.
Prof. Nothofer will be greatly missed, but his contributions will be remembered for years to come.
